I have always been known as a god gamer, at least in the eyes of my chat. However, the truth is that I play games that nobody else wants to play because I’m getting paid to play them. It’s not that I’m better than you, it’s just that I have more time on my hands. I’m actually pretty bad at popular games like Rocket League, Valorant, and League of Legends. Despite playing Valorant for over three years, I’m still hard-stuck in Platinum. But recently, something incredible happened - I accidentally won a Valorant tournament.
As a content creator, I usually get invited to creator events rather than normal tournaments. Offline TV, a popular creator group, hosts some of the biggest creator events. They organize one or two Valorant tournaments every year, and Broden from Offline TV asked me to participate in the latest one. I agreed, thinking it would be a fun way to fill a few hours of my stream.
Little did I know that this tournament had a completely different format. Instead of playing with a consistent team of five, which is the norm in Valorant tournaments, this one was a solo queue tournament. In each game, my teammates would change, and the sole focus was on individual success. The tournament organizers would evaluate factors such as whether I won or lost, how many rounds I won or lost, and the number of kills I got. Based on these individual performances, they would determine who moves on to the finals.
Honestly, I didn’t plan to win this tournament. I entered it on a whim, not expecting much. After all, someone like me, who struggles to even reach Diamond, shouldn’t be winning any tournaments. But life has its unexpected surprises, and I ended up winning the whole thing.
